Flat, slightly scenic, quiet. Rode from Myrtle Park to Vanfleet trailhead and back. About 13 miles round trip. Enjoyable ride.

Beautiful Setting + Nice Amenities = Great Trail

February, 2017 by endlesspursuit

Wonderful way to spend the day in Kissimmee. Start off with a walk or ride and when it gets warm rent a kayak and paddle along the canopy covered creek. Can't wait for the future segments to be built and the trail connect with the Coast to Coast Connector!

Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST)

Stress the word "lost"

February, 2017 by dhotmire

There is no trail, where there once was a nice one. Years ago I traversed it successfully, but today only a few miles of it are open. Sections were to be worked in a bit at a time, originally. However, when a new section has begun construction other sections are not re-opened. 30 mile sections are shut down for two miles worth of construction. By the time the construction is finished most of us will not be around to enjoy the trail. I'm sure we will all be safer as a result of today's version of messing with nature to "improve" nature is complete. According to projections, the dike will be complete and reopened when sea level has risen above it.

Lots of nature and an easy ride!

January, 2017 by wreinsel

We rode this trail on Friday January 27th from about 10am to 5pm. We started from the Mabel trailhead which is mile 29.5 and there is a restroom there. The main issue on this trail is that there is no water except at the Greenpond trailhead at mile 10. That is where we turned around after refilling our water bottle. There was one other restroom at about mile 20 at the Bay Lake trailhead which was a compostable toilet and there was parking and picnic tables there.

We were not riding for speed but to see the wildlife and there was a lot of nature to see. It was 20 degrees below normal so much chillier than normal with some sun and no wind.

We saw river otters, great blue herons, egrets, ibis, sandhill cranes, cormorants, and hawks from the bridges crossing the water. There were many types of woodpeckers and warblers too. Alligators were also out in the water.

While this sraight and flat trail can be used for speed it is also a great trail for a relaxing day of wildlife watching.

Back to Nature

January, 2017 by jmk355

Beginning in Polk City and riding to the other end and back, there is an abundance of wildlife and vegetation. Only needed one gear but a sharp eye helped a lot to see a number of gators (some fairly large) in the waters along the way. They aren't interested in cyclists fortunately. A super ride to relax and enjoy the beauties of nature. Water is not abundant, but easy to manage if you make good use of the fountains at mm10 in both directs.

The Zen Trail of Serenity.

January, 2017 by mixorly_tl

If you want to just get on your pedals and disappear into a hard fought speed ride with an amazing backdrop this ride is perfect. But it is also just a Serene Ride if you want to stop along the way and look at Florida's natural scenery and wild life. it doesn't have the diversity of some other trails but by the end I realized it didn't have to. Miles are marked and benched stations for cyclists are prevalent along the way. Out of the way but worth every minute getting there.

Fort Fraser Trail

Fist time on the trail.

October, 2016 by Dnickell727

Yesterday was my first time riding on the Fort Fraser Trail. I must say besides the strong winds, it was an enjoyable ride. Going north there are some slight elevation changes, but nothing too difficult for a beginner. At the halfway point of the trail there is a restroom, water fountains, and adequate amount of parking. Overall I gave the trail a 4 out of 5 because it is very user friendly. However, I would like to see more water fountains added and it being expanded eventually.

Getting Outdoors

October, 2016 by khamilton282

Has a fun adventure with my fiance and puppy this morning on Auburndale Trail. It was our first time checking out the trail. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed how shaded the trail was with trees. We will definitely be going back!

Great trail!

August, 2016 by sallysomd

We are visiting Florida and we are geocachers. We happened to see this trail nearby and it had caches along it. We were worried that it would be hot hot hot, but we started early and almost all of the trail we rode was shaded. Nice and straight. Didn't seen any animals other than a deer and a squirrel, though hikers we talked to who hiked and biked the trail often, said they do occasionally see alligators. Nice bathroom at the Mabel trailhead and some benches along the way.

Watched it grow over the years

August, 2016 by jclifton88

Well to see what it is now to what it was when they first took out the tracks, it amazing!
Yes I rode the trail the 1st time right after it was opened. the railroad rocks still on the trail. But it as still very much a beautiful experience. To have something like this fall into place was long over dew. And still to this day I go back its just as existing as the 1st time I unloaded my Bike an took of. Yes I've done the entire 29 miles in one long hard hot stormy day an I loved it. thanks for the many great times an many more to come our way, love this place so peaceful. Sincerely, Jerrit Clifton
