Home to the NBA’s Tri-Cities Blackhawks, now the Atlanta Hawks, from 1946 to 1951, today the Wharton Field House in Moline, Illinois, serves as an athletic venue for local Moline High School sports teams. Since its opening in 1928, the 7,000-seat arena has hosted professional sporting teams, concerts, graduation ceremonies and other events. In 2004, USA Today named Wharton Field House one of the top places to watch high school basketball.
