Surely one of the most beautiful views on this trail is found when approaching Rock Lake from the west. The trail is surrounded by trees and then suddenly opens up to reveal the lake as you cross a bridge. Definitely worth stopping for. — Photo by:aslaksan

The Lake City DNR office is right on the trail. It has a small museum, bathrooms, water, picnic area, and pop machine. For those who camp at Sandhill Station, hot showers are available from April to the middle of November. — Photo by:aslaksan
