In May 2007 major trail resurfacing was completed through the town of Klickitat. Also completed was the section from Lyle to Fisher Hill Bridge.

Cross the trestle (one of several) and head towards Swale Canyon (upper right) Bring a bike with shocks and lots of water! The trail is level to downhill the whole distance.

After regaining the trail past Klickitat, you cross the highway and commit to the last 10 miles of trail. I took the highway here, as everyone in our party got flats from a woody thorn growing in the trail. The last 10 miles promised even more. Your call.

It's just ahead and it's a beaut! Proceed about 13 miles to the end. The trestle is gone over the Klickitat, so turn right over the new bridge and pedal the highway about 3.5 miles into town to regain the trail.

You'll begin descending immediately into the canyon. The trail is pretty rough, so let some air out of your tires if necessary. Occassionally check for ticks, they are out!
