From the parking lot, take the Bluff Line Trail to the Railroad Bed trailhead. The trail has a gentle downhill slope. In places the surface is fairly rocky and can be uncomfortable, but for the most part the hiking is easy.

The Railroad Bed Trail was one of the country's first 500 Rails-To-Trails projects. This marker stands at the Huntsville Land Trust parking lot, off Bankhead Parkway. The trail follows the bed of the former narrow gauge railroad.
