Arrow Stone Park is located along the east bank of the Clark Fork River. The park offers a 1.6-mile paved trail allowing residents of Deer Lodge to reconnect with the river and with nature. The trail starts at the picnic area kiosk and heads north to Pennsylvania Avenue. Along the northern segment of the trail is the back end of the Old Montana State Prison Complex, the former prison site that now hosts five museums: the Prison Museum, the Montana Auto Museum, Powell County Museum, Frontier Montana and an antique toy museum.
Within the park, loop trails jut out from the trail's main spine. These short loops will add between 0.2 and 0.4 miles each to your journey. They circle small ponds scattered around the park. Arrow Stone Park also provides a picnic area and a fishing pier, for folks wanting to take advantage on the close river access.
Arrow Stone Park is located at 100 I-90BL, Deer Lodge, MT. There is a gravel parking lot.
Nice trailhead with picnic tables, etc. along side the Clark Fork River. Short trail but paved and wanders around through trees and alongside small ponds. A couple narrow bridges. Several loops to follow. Rode from here, along trail behind the old prison, through town to the south end of the Old Yellowstone Trail.
