El Paso Walking Trail (IL) Description

The El Paso Walking Trail runs along part of an old railroad right-of-way through the town of El Paso, beginning at the city park on the south side of town and ending at a creek north of town among cultivated fields. The trail offers a pleasant stroll or relaxing bike ride, with access to town amenities.

From I-39, take Exit 14 and turn right onto Route 24/W. Main St. Go 0.8 mile and turn right onto S. Sycamore St. Proceed three blocks to South Pointe Park and follow signs to the parking lot by the swimming pool and tennis courts.

El Paso Walking Trail (IL) Reviews

The small city of El Paso has done a great job converting this stretch of old abandoned railroad right-of-way into a recreational asset for the community and visitors alike. I wish we could see more trails like this pop up in villages and towns all over America.
