The Follow Me Trail is a 2.6 mile rail-trail in Columbus Georgia. The trail occupies a former Fort Benning Railroad right-of-way and current electric utility corridor, providing a mostly flat, paved recreational pathway that visitors of all ages can enjoy. It also offers a non-driving alternative for residents of the adjacent residential communities to access schools, retail and restaurants.
The north trailhead is found on Cusseta Road, across from the American Legion building. From there it follows the old railroad corridor to Fort Benning Road. Each access point is marked by a gateway or a pillar with the intersecting street name. From Fort Benning Road, the trail continues past Levy Road to Victory Drive, where a pedestrian bridge carries users safely over the six-lane highway.
The next street is Torch Hill Road, where there is a second trailhead with parking. The trail ends about half a mile later, dead-ending beyond Matheson Road.
The Follow Me Trail is part of the Columbus area's 30-mile (and growing) trail network, known as the Dragonfly Trails system. Other trails in the network include the Chatterhoochee Riverwalk and the Columbus Fall Line Trace.
There's parking and restrooms at either end:
