A winding line of asphalt meanders between Glenn Dale Park in Lanham to Annapolis Road. The trail is sheltered amongst the riparian woodland of Folly Branch. At the north end of the trail can be accessed from the residential areas along Garson Terrace and Bartley Way, through the park. The Folly Branch Trail connects to the Washington, Baltimore & Annapolis (WB&A) Trail via the Annapolis Road multi-use path.
The trail can be accessed on Garson Terrace and Bartley Way.
This is a pleasant stroll on a well-maintained neighborhood trail. It's a paved, pine-needle strewn path that winds through the woods in an upscale community. I was here on a rainy day, mid-week, so there was no one else on the trail. There is a small lake, a stream, and some wetlands, so I imagine that the birds, especially in the spring, are quite active. It's barely three miles total, and that's only if you include the side trail, but if you walk end-to-end, both directions, you can get a nice little work-out. It's a nice trail for trail runners.
