The city of Beaumont is home to the Folsom Hike and Bike Trail. This 10-foot wide concrete recreational path zig-zags across the grassy detention pond on the west side of the city. Beginning at the trailhead on Folsom Drive, the trail runs for 1.4 miles to the other end, on Metropolitan Drive, for a total of 2.8 miles out-and-back. Residents make use of the trail for exercise, for walking dogs and for fun outside with friends or family. Note that this trail has no trees or any type of shade. Trail hours are from dawn to dusk.
The Folsom Hike and Bike Trail is one of two multi-use recreational paths in Beaumont. The other is the Gulf Terrace Hike and Bike Trail.
The official trailhead is located on 6510 Folsom Drive. There are 22 parking spaces, including accessible ones. There's also a water fountain at this end.
