Goose Creek Greenway Description

The Goose Creek Greenway offers a major east-west route through Boulder. Note that there is little shade along the way and the pathway runs through busy commercial areas, including the Villa Shopping Center.

On the trail's western end, you can access East Mapleton Park and Ball Fields, as well as Elmer's Two Mile Creek Greenway. At its eastern end, the trail forks; go north to explore Valmont Bike Park, or head south to hop on the Boulder Creek Path, which can take you downtown and to the University of Colorado.

Parking and Trail Access

A parking lot is available off Airport Road on the western border of Valmont Bike Park. Another is available at East Mapleton Park and Ball Fields (2838 Mapleton Avenue).

Another great Boulder path

This is a very good east/west trail that provides access to many other trails/areas of Boulder. It is one of the relatively newer Boulder paths so is nice and wide and in good shape. As with other Boulder paths, there are some blind spots and other path users to be aware of. There is one road crossing at 47th St. that is usually not too bad. Watch out for crazed Prairie Dogs darting in front of you in the open eastern portion!

22-Mile Loop

Starting at Carpenter Park, head east on Boulder Creek trail to the end at Arapahoe, then out and back on Wonderland and Cottonwood trails, then out and back on Goose Creek trail, then out and back on Skunk Creek and Bear Creek trails, then back to Carpenter park, you can make a 22-mile East Boulder Loop.
