The Iron Horse Trail stretches across northern Wisconsin, offering ATV and snowmobile users beautiful wilderness to explore. While the trail is primarily maintained for motorized users, mountain bikers and hikers are also welcome. The gravel base is not appropriate for road bikes.
There are several annual festivities in the area, including the Pumpkin Run ATV Rally in the fall and the Memorial Weekend ATV Rally in the summer. Both events explore several other trails in Iron County in addition to the Iron Horse Trail.
There is parking on Harbor Road as shown on the trail map.
Zero enforcement. Atvs are out of control.
Zero upkeep and trail maintenance just outside of Hurley. Bring your machete and chainsaw if you ride this 'trail'.I've ridden several state trails, but this one clearly has been forgotten, which is too bad because it's a beautiful area.
