Railroad Highway Trail Description

The 2-mile long Railroad Highway Trail runs through gently undulating farmscape just outside of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The trails sits within the corridor of the Railroad Highway but I separated from the road. The concrete trail is 10 feet wide, accommodating  pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and other trail users.

A 2-mile extension to the trail will be completed in Summer 2019 that connects to the Council Bluffs and Omaha Metro trail system. Beyond that, the plan is to create a continuous 17 miles of trail stretching from Council Bluffs to Neola.

Parking and Trail Access

There is no designated parking for the trail.
