The Shady Rest Path is a scenic paved trail that winds north from a junction with the short Main Street Connector to Shady Rest Park. Open from May to November, the park features several athletic fields, as well as a playground, picnic area, concession stand and restrooms. Along the way, trail users pass through dense woodlands adjacent to popular campgrounds.
Parking for the Shady Rest Path is available at Shady Rest Park on Sawmill Cutoff Road (0.5 mile north of State Route 203).
Very nice trail for walking, biking, and skating. For inline or roller skating, be careful about couple road cracks..so you just need to use it with caution, or be expert!
This trail can be accessed from the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center, also connects to the 203 South Trail through tunnel under Hwy203. Excellent Surface, meanders through Jeffrey Pines with a nice vanilla smell in the cool of the evening to Shady Rest Park.
