Carrollton GreenBelt

This Is A Great Ride!

June, 2022 by tolbert51571_tl

The Main Loop was well-marked, plenty of shady areas to stop, and stunning lake views. Definitely worth the time spent. Will do this one again if I’m in the area.

Carrollton GreenBelt

Spectacular Ride!

June, 2022 by tolbert51571_tl

My wife and I really enjoyed this ride around the town of Carrollton. Nice shady areas, fantastic lake views, and the main loop was well marked. We will definitely do this ride again when I visit my sister in Newnan, GA.

Chattahoochee Riverwalk

Outstanding Trail

June, 2022 by davidmsr

Chattahoochee River trail is one of the most scenic of the 30 Rail to Trails that we’ve ridden. Paved, smooth, relatively flat (a few inclines a trail goes up to parks or trailheads) We stared at the 14th Street pedestrian bridge that connects Georgia to Alabama crossing the Chattahoochee (rapids at this location) The trail goes under the bridge and you can go north or south from this location. Going north we had a detour, followed by trail closure for repaving. Going back south no issues. Many parks, benches and shade along the trail. Made a stop at the National Civil War Navel Museum, really great display of actual ships and recovered artifacts from Civil War. 15 miles of great views, smooth trails, and very few people on the trail, especially on southern end.

Cochran Shoals Trail

offshoot trails

June, 2022 by bhallasonu01

I love this trail. It is mostly flat and very wide alongside the river. I would like to add that there are many 1-2 Mile offshoot trails that are connected to very wooded and beautiful small trails - with lots of shade and uphill options. I’ve explored 3 already.

Cricket Frog Trail

Enjoyed this flat trail!

Finding a tail that is flat in Georgia I have found is difficult. This trail is flat and straight! Beautiful. And downtown Covington is so cute!

Mount Berry Trail

A must do trail for runners

May, 2022 by mikelarue1

Wow! Beautiful paved trail sandwiched between Oostanaula River and Berry property. Winds around to Armuchee Connector and will soon connect up to Oostanaula Levee Trail. Great views of pastures, woodlands and the river. Great addition to Rome’s trail system. Must see!

Stone Mountain Trail

needs better signage

May, 2022 by zap26

Tried the trail in March. I started at Centennial Park and was very excited. Rode 20 miles and was only on the actual trail for about 2 miles (once I found the trail). I got to the east belt junction and couldn’t find signs. Went the wrong way and ended up back at the park. Attempted it again in May this time I thought I would start at Stone Mountain, that didn’t work either. First lack of parking lots second lack of signage. I gave up and biked around the mountain twice.

McQueen's Island Trail

still closed as of May 2022

May, 2022 by jacvaughn

The main section is almost done. Hopefully they open it this summer and close off only the section that still needs repairs (from the curve to Elba island).

East Decatur Greenway

Not for beginner rollerblading

May, 2022 by lolakoala22

Just a bunch of massive hills

Allatoona Pass

This trail is incredibly shady the entire way, which will be excellent on steamy summer days! This is a great place to ride your bicycle if you are just throwing a leg over to get back to exercising.
