Historic Railroad Trail

Nevada

We were there around 0730 and had a great run towards Hoover Adam from the Bible visitor center, but apparently BLM opens the gate about 2 miles in later in the morning. wish we could have ran the 3.5 to Hoover but it was beautiful nonetheless!

From here it's one mile west to Lakeshore Road. There, we crossed Lakeshore and headed up the rail trail toward Boulder City. On option at Lakeshore is to head north along Lake Mead on a 40-mile trail loop around Rivers Mountain.

The trail ballast is fairly coarse, and loose during our September ride. Still, we were on 25mm tires and didn't have too much difficulty.

Interbike Bike Demo Day 1, Steve and I get ready to try out the new Tunnel Trail. The recently built bridge over the Colorado has nicely diverted almost all traffic from Hoover Dam. I rode here a few years earlier and it was completely mobbed with cars.
