Kudzu near Damascus, Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail
Kudzu is a climbing vine introduced from Asia. This colony was planted for erosion control during the construction of U.S. Highway 58. It covers almost all the other plants and trees. It looks cool but blocks the sun from the plants it covers.
