Although just a mile long, the Beach Channel Drive Greenway in Queens offers expansive views of Jamaica Bay and the beautiful Marine Parkway Bridge as it traces the border of Jacob Riis Park. On the trail's west end, you'll find the historic district of Fort Tilden and you'll also be just a few blocks north of the beach. Note that there is no shade on the trail, so plan appropriately.
If you head north on the bridge, you can connect to the Flatbush Avenue Greenway, which in turn connects to the Shore Parkway Greenway Trail. All three trails are part of a network called the Jamaica Bay Greenway, which encircles the bay with a combination of on-road bike lanes, sidewalks, and greenways. See the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative for more information on this network.
There is parking for this trail available at Jacob Riis Park, 157 Rockaway Beach Blvd.
