The Bitterroot Trail offers a short outdoor excursion in northwestern Livingston, a rural community ringed by distant mountains and situated about 65 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. The gravel trail offers wide open views of Big Sky Country and is located close to the community's Northside Park and Soccer Fields. The pathway is dotted with native trees donated by Northwestern Energy and lies adjacent to residential neighborhoods. Dogs are welcome on the trail, but must be leashed.
Parking is available in nearby Northside Park and Soccer Fields (1220 N. 13th Street).
Location: Livingston, MT
Trail Condition: Gravel/natural surface. Grass has been recently mowed. Gravel path is narrow but generally smooth.
Signage: Some regulatory signs.
Comments: This trail is on the edge of town and travels behind a few houses and goes to the Northside Park & Soccer Field. The official end of trail is here, however, pass through the park to a gravel path going downhill and over to the Bozeman Trail Connector for a longer ride on mostly gravel path.
