Print Friendly MapThe 5.4-mile Dearborn County Trail runs in three distinct sections throughout Dearborn County, Indiana. The three sections are also refered to as (from north-south): Greendale Trail, Aurora-Lawrenceburg Trail, and the Lesko Park Bike Path
About the Route
The Greendale Trail runs between Walnut Street and Hollywood Boulevard at Eads Parkway, paralleling Eads Parkway/US 50 on the east side. There's a short gap (0.6 mile) in the trail between Lawrenceburg and Greendale. The Aurora-Lawrenceburg Trail runs 3.6 miles between E. William Street at E. High Street in Lawrenceburg and Manchester Landing Street on the north edge of Aurora. Trails users can continue on-road through Aurora (0.7-miles), heading south on Decatur Street/SR 56 to just south of its intersection with Market Street. On the river side of the road, the Lesko Park Bike Path continues 0.7 mile south through Lesko Park.
Par of the paved rail-trail parallels an active CSX rail line along the scenic Ohio River. There are a few bridge crossings, Wilson Creek in Aurora and a restored 1882 bridge across Tanners Creek. Between Lawrenceburg and Aurora the trail passes through a wooded corridor and is more rural. Watch for wildlife in this section, including deer, beaver, foxes and shorebirds along the river wetlands.
The Dearborn County Trail runs between Production Way (Greendale) and Ohio River Scenic Byway.

I did a total of 16 miles along the levy by the Casino Hotel and the Dearborn Trail. I didn’t do the first part that starts in Glendale because of the .6 mile break in trail. Very pleasant, well maintained, and not crowded on a Thursday.
Kid-friendly! The trail is not overcrowded, beautiful scenery and under a lot of shade.
My wife and I spent a pleasant couple hours on the Dearborn trail. Weather was perfect, parking plentiful, small crowd and the trail is partially shaded and well maintained. Most of the trip is scenic river views with a bit of small town and light industrial areas as well. Not a 5 star for us due to the fact it doesn’t connect all the way through but is manageable. Definitely return trip worthy!
Wide paved trail, fairly flat, lots of benches and restrooms. Even a dog park! View of the Ohio River and tug boats along sections of the trail. Beautiful trees through the trail. A definite do again trail!
Most of the trail is nice with the beauty of nature, flat pavement, fun tunnels and bridges. All that is nice for the family. But it would be better if it were all connected without having to go on the road. That part scared my 9 year old. Otherwise, It was nice to get ice cream in Aurora and there’s a strongs pizza right by the lawrenceburg trailhead. And parking is free and plentiful.
Nice trail, the small section I was able to ride today (thus 4 stars) - but sadly missing alerts that it's currently mostly closed due to roadwork!! (Thus only 4 stars).
Grateful to have this gem in my county. We utilize this entire trail for walking & biking whenever the weather allows.
This trail was a nice trail for the beginning of the season. I am a casual rider and it is fairly short and flat trail. Nice tunnels and bridges. One thing I don't like is that it is not marked very well and if you are riding along the flood wall towards Hollywood Casino the trail just dead ends although the map says you can go further. If you ride into Aurora, the path is not marked and you have to make your own path through the town once you cross the large metal bridge.
...and while yes, it was closed for a while, it was open today and just fine, lovely in fact. I rode between the Hollywood Casino and The George street bridge and had a wonderful time. With the exception of the part that goes right by the power plant, this is scenic, lush and lovely with two wonderful bridges I adore and a few tunnels. I have often walked this around dusk and early evening during the summer to watch all the tens of thousands of fireflies all lit up and blinking, it is truly magical.
To be clear, the trail is just fine now, and as lovely as ever. Enjoy. 4/19/2016 1731 Eastern.
This has been closed for some time but would you think they would post it. Won't go back to this area again even if they open it. Shame on the chamber of commerce !
