The Elizabeth F. Hernandez Memorial Trail is a shared-use trail adjacent to Transmountain Drive in northeast El Paso. The trail sits on both the north side and the south side of the road, extending from Desert Boulevard in the city to Franklin Mountains State Park, home to rugged, high-desert peaks. While the south side trail dead-ends after two and-a-half miles, the north side trail continues for another mile to the access road for the Tom Mays unit of the state park.
The south side trail intersects with the Pat O'Rourke Memorial Hike and Bike Trail at Resler Drive. Another asphalt trail continues north along Desert Drive towards Las Cruces.
The trail was named in honor of a jogger who was struck by a car along Transmountain Road.
There is no dedicated parking for this trail.
