The Pat O'Rourke Memorial Hike & Bike Trail is over two miles of smooth asphalt along Resler Drive, in El Paso Texas. Originally christened the Resler Drive Hike and Bike Trail, the trail was renamed in honor of the former county judge (and father of politician Beto O'Rourke) who died in a crash while riding his bike.
The Hike & Bike Trail is completely separated from traffic, offering a safe space for users to walk, ride and roll. The trail is divided into two lanes and is enhanced by attractive landscaping, which includes mesquite, desert sage and still-growing shade trees. Benches have been placed at intervals along the trail. The trail runs through an area of west El Paso that's a mix of desert beauty and several existing and upcoming housing developments.
There are two small parking nooks along the trail: one is at the northbound lane of Resler Drive & Trade Center Ave. The other is on Resler and Plexar Drive, just before you reach the hospital at the north end of the trail.
