Overview
The Fishing Line Trail is currently a 1-mile, paved rail-trail in Fort Wayne.
About the Route
The Fishing Line Trail runs between W Cook Road and W Washington Center Road in northwest Fort Wayne. Mid-route there is a trailhead on W Ludwig Road with a paved parking lot, a bench and trail signage.
Plans for the trail include links to Noble and Lagrange Counties. A connection is also planned to the Lima Road Trail.
Trail History
The trail follows the route of the former Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad. Fort Wayne locals would head north on the railroad to fish in Michigan, hence the name of the rail-trail.
