San Antonio’s former mayor Howard Peak was a proponent of trails, whose enthusiasm and vision came to be shared by the city as a whole. This is why the city’s network of trails and greenways is named for him. Many of the trails are sited alongside the city’s many creeks; the Huebner Creek Greenway is one of them. It extends for 1.5 miles along the creek of the same name. At one end, its anchored by Crystal Hills Trailhead on Shadow Mist [road], and on the other, it feeds into the 18-mile Leon Creek Greenway.
