This trail is a paved, multiuse pathway that runs along the canal east of downtown Idaho Falls. Offering a pleasant canal-side opportunity for recreation, the trail also provides connections between various destinations ranging from schools and shopping to parks and museums.
The Idaho Falls Canal Trail is currently composed of two separate sections. The northern section runs south from the dead end of NW Bonneville Dr to the intersection of E 14th St/SW Bonneville Dr and Cranmer Ave. The shorter southern section picks up at the intersection of E 17th St and S Holmes Ave to Community Park (455 E 25th St, Idaho Falls).
Looking for nearby trails? Head a few blocks west to explore the Idaho Falls Greenbelt, a green north-south connector through the city along both sides of the Snake River.
Parking is available at the Community Park parking lot (485 E 25th St, Idaho Falls) and there are a number of public parking lots in downtown Idaho Falls. Visit the TrailLink map for all options and detailed directions.
