Overview
The 7.4-mile Iosco Exploration Trail exists in two sections in Hale and Oscoda. The trail is a beautiful non-motorized pathway to Iosco County for all community members, visitors, tourists, and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
About the Route
At the trail's western end, there is a 1.2-mile trail leaving from the trail's western end in Long Lake Park before coming to Wild Cherry Ln.
The longer section of the trail leaves off in the west from Old Orchard Park and then travels 6 miles east, mostly alongside River Rd., until reaching Oscoda. The trail passes Oscoda High School, where the trail serves as a Safe Route to School, partially funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation through Michigan's Safe Route to School Program (SRTS).
