Iowa River Trail Description

This 10-foot wide trail was opened in the summer of 2018, and features a smooth concrete surface that can accommodate a variety of users including, walkers, runners, cyclists, wheelchair users and leashed dogs. It sits in the right-of-way of a former railbed. This is the first 2 miles of what will eventually be a 34-mile rail-trail from Marshalltown in Marshall County, to Eldora in Hardin County. The featured bridges along the route are all in urgent need of repair in order to the rail-trail project to proceed.

Parking and Trail Access

The Ann Keyer trailhead is just north of the YMCA at Wilson Circle; from there the trail continues northwest through Marshalltown. You can access the trail at various cross streets along the way.
