Overview
The Joseph Branch Trail-with-Rail is a developing trail that runs within the publicly-owned railroad right-of-way between Elgin and Joseph in Northeast Oregon. Currently, the trail is less than half a mile long and has a gravel surface.
About the Route
The Joseph Branch Trail-with-Rail heads north from Elgin Pocket Park to city limits by Grande Ronde River.
The trail runs alongside existing railroad tracks within the publicly-owned Wallowa Union Railroad Authority right-of-way.
Future phases of the trail will continue following the right-of-way to Joseph.
The Joseph Branch Trail-with-Rail runs between the Elgin Pocket Park Trailhead (Elgin), where parking is available, and Elgin city limits by Grande Ronde River (Elgin).
