A concrete, multi-use trail that forms a loop through the Lake Pahoja Recreation Area, the Lake Pahoja Trail offers a nice pathway in an off-the-beaten-path corner of northwest Iowa. The 72-acre lake encompassed by the trail is a popular fishing spot for bass and gill, and the lake is surrounded by lovely restored natural habitats, taking trail users through pristine examples of Iowa prairie land.
The Lake Pahoja Trail is an excellent amenity for those staying at the campgrounds around the lake, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and explore more of the scenic environment. Bring your bikes with you to enjoy a pleasant, low-stress ride, or simply head out on the trail for a leisurely stroll - providing over three miles of paved trail, the Lake Pahoja Trail is well-worth checking out if you find yourself in the area.
Parking and restrooms are available at the park entrance on the northern side of the lake, located on Buchanan Avenue just south of 180th Street. The park is about twenty miles southeast of Sioux Falls.
This is a cool little trail. There's a five dollar park entrance fee, however.
Lake Pahoja seems like maybe more of a pond, but it's a pleaseat ride. Very smooth trail. KInd of a short loop, but you can go around it as many times as you like.
