Lone Star Trail Description

This is a U-shaped multiple use pathway in Grand Prairie, Dallas County. Beginning at the Grand Prairie Tourist Information Center in Lone Star Park, the trail then travels south parallel to N Beltline Road. Continuing left and east along Trinity River, and after a right turn onto Hunter Ferrell Road, the trail inks up with the City of Irving’s Campion Trail.

Parking and Trail Access

Park at Lone Star Park (1000 Lone Star Pkwy); its sprawling campus features a convert venue, racing track and even a minor league baseball stadium.

We explored the newly opened section of this trail that leads west. It’s nice and wide just like the other section that runs east. A large retention pond is visible from the trail. Hopefully this will be a good birding spot during the winter.
