Manhattan to the Gallatin River Trail Description

This multiuse trail begins in the heart of Manhattan and heads east towards the Gallatin River. The trail runs along the south side of Dry Creek Road, beginning at Yadon Road. It's a paved trail, and wide enough to accommodate different kinds of users, including pedestrians and cyclists. It also leads to a fishing access site on the river, inviting folks to stop at the river, before heading back into town.

Parking and Trail Access

You can park at Altenbrand Park, located on Altenbrand Avnue, off Yadon Road. From there, a paved path leads to the trail at Dry Creek Road.

Manhattan to the Gallatin River Trail Reviews

1/31/24. I cold but sunny day for a bike ride. The trail is in good condition. I continued to ride another 8 miles on the road towards Belgrade. Saw 4 mature eagles and some deer. Unclear where to park and no restroom. I parked at the school

nice walking trail

I am not a super hiker and sometimes you just want a place close to home to walk. This trail fits the bill. You cross the river a few times on well Maintained bridges. If you park at the Belgrade access, there are restrooms. It can get a bit loud with road traffic - as it follows an ever busy road. Less than 2 miles from home, so we enjoy often. The entire trail down and back is just about 4 miles.
