The Mayde Creek Hike and Bike Trail is a great trail for residents of west Harris County in search of local places to stroll, bike or walk their dogs. It begins on Appletree Hill Lane and heads south within the creek's greenbelt. Following crossings on Morton Road and Ashley Road, the trail comes to the Mayde Creek school complex, which is made up of the elementary, junior high and high schools, as well as athletic fields. The north-south branch of the trail ends up at Cullen Park, which has its own concrete trail leading to the pavilions and continuing east.
The east-west branch continues from Cullen Park along the south perimeter of the school complex to the Pocket Park on Greenhouse Road. The little park features play areas and picnic tables. The trail leaves the park and snakes its way west along the creek. A pedestrian bridge connects the segments of the trail on the north and south side of the stream. The segments run parallel to each other on the opposite banks, both terminating at a point east of Fry Road.
Park at the Cullen Park pavilions (19008 Saums Road, Houston, TX) and take the Cullen Park trail heading west to meet the Mayde Creek Trail. Nearby residents can access the trail on foot or by bike from any of the street intersections.
I like this place because it is quiet, safe and close to my house
