Morgana Run Trail Description

The Morgana Run Trail runs on a former Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway corridor through Cleveland’s historic Slavic Village neighborhood. The paved rail-trail connects residents to Cleveland Metroparks’ Garfield Park Reservation to the south, where trail users can view Mill Creek Falls, Cuyahoga County’s largest waterfall. (Be aware that the link to Garfield Park includes a short stretch of travel on busy Broadway Ave.) At the trail’s northern end, Washington Park and its new golf course is just a short trip away.

The trail also provides a safe route to schools and recreational facilities for the community’s youth, as it passes directly by South High School, Stella Walsh Recreation Center, Union Elementary, the Boys & Girls Club, Cleveland Central Catholic High School, St. Stanislaus Elementary and Mound Elementary School.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking for the Morgana Run Trail can be found along neighborhood streets in Slavic Village.

Morgana Run Trail Reviews

A hidden gem!

This is a great biking path! Artwork and sculpture along the way, and a picnic area near 71st and Union.
Makes a great clockwise-loop when combined with the Towpath Trail / Washington Reservation All Purpose Trail / Mill Creek Connector Trail.
(Crossing Broadway is a bit harrowing, but the new pedestrian-crossing measures make it easy on the sidewalk.)

Okay for a Commuter Route

I biked the Morgana Run Trail in April 2017. This trail is a little over 2 miles long running through Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood. As is usually the case, I did an out-and-back trip on this trail. Much of the trail runs through industrial areas related to Cleveland's steel making and manufacturing heyday. It crosses many streets so if you're looking for a trail to train on your speed this is not the one for that. The condition of the trail surface was good but, unfortunately, as might be expected in an somewhat blighted urban area, their were sections of the trail littered with broken glass. The description listed here in TrailLink makes it sound as if this trail connects directly into the Cleveland Metroparks’ Garfield Park Reservation but that is not the case. One must ride 4/10ths of a mile along busy Broadway Avenue to get to the park and if you're not familiar with the area the route is not well marked.
