This trail is part of Rome's connected ECO Greenway trail system, spanning 16 miles. The Mount Berry Trail sits along the west bank of the Oostanaula River, a bucolic retreat of riparian forest and rolling pasture. The trail is paved, making for an easy walk, ride or run while providing a vantage point to spot resident wildlife like deer, beavers, muskrats and various species of waterfowl. The first phase of the trail terminates at Big Dry Creek, but future connections are planned to the Armuchee Connector road and the Oostanaula Levee Trail, part of the Heritage Park Trail system that occupies the opposite bank of the river.
The official trailhead is located at the end of Coligni Way, behind the US Post Office located at 1420 Martha Berry Blvd. NE, Rome. There is parking, signage and a map marking the start of the trail.
Wow! Beautiful paved trail sandwiched between Oostanaula River and Berry property. Winds around to Armuchee Connector and will soon connect up to Oostanaula Levee Trail. Great views of pastures, woodlands and the river. Great addition to Rome’s trail system. Must see!
