The North Chicamauga Creek Greenway is located in the North Chicamauga Creek Conservancy. The trail follows the path of the Chicamauga Creek and is mostly a mix of paved and gravel trail, but there are some grass areas in the northern portion. Restrooms and a dog park are available, along with activities such as fishing allowed and hunting allowed in the Small Wild Area.
Parking is available at the northern end on Gann Store Road and the souther end at the Big Ridge Small Wild Area.
I’ve taken my dog to this dog park which was fun with shade and water available. Which is right across from the trail head. We’ve then walked the trail a few times. The trail is flat and with a hard packed dirt surface on a wide trail, making it very walkable. It’s completely shaded by the surrounding woods, making birding good along the way, don’t forget your binoculars. It’s about a 2 mile walk and not strenuous at all. There is a restroom available at the parking lot.
this is a great place for running, walking, biking, and enjoying the great outdoors. There are dirt walking trails for the novice, there are harder trails they are paved, and there are off-road hiking trails. Pets are welcome: there is a dog park.
