Located on the marshy northern outskirts of the coastal community of Lewes, the Park Road Shared-Use Path provides a nice stretch of paved trail for cyclists and pedestrians to aid in navigating the area. Constructed along with the roadway in 2014, the trail runs through largely undeveloped land owned by the University of Delaware, providing a slightly more scenic experience than your typical sidepath - the northern end lies at an inlet with views of the Delaware Bay.
The trail currently does not connect to any of the area's other trails or bike infrastructure, so only cyclists comfortable with some road riding will likely find their way to this pathway. For those looking for a more traditional trail experience, the nearby Georgetown-Lewes Rail Trail provides a popular alternative.
No dedicated trail parking is provided for this trail; be sure to follow any posted signs and regulations in nearby areas.
Rode this trail today. Fine condition. Runs directly adjacent to the Park Road. As stated, no direct access to other trails but can provide loop options for riding in the Lewes area.
