The Seahorse Trail runs primarily along the western edge of Holts Landing State Park. The trail provides access to the park’s campgrounds on its trek through dense forest. Connections to the hiking-only Sea Hawk Trail allow for longer loops through the park and spectacular views of Indian River Bay.
Though relatively short, the trail offers a surprisingly diverse array of scenery along its path; birdwatchers in particular will jump at the chance to spot a wide variety of waterfowl and songbirds from the trail as it transitions from the marshy grounds by the bay to the hardwood forest to the south.
Parking and restrooms for Holts Landing State Park are available at the northern end of Holts Landing Road/Road 346 in Millville, Delaware, with the state park vehicle entrance fee.
easy trail : forest, marsh, bay
Best of both worlds - bayside ride and forest ride. Great playground for the kids. Picnic areas along the way just off the trail with tables/benches.
A nice easy walk; trail is discontinuous; if you know how to navigate, you'll have no difficulty making a pleasant trip out of it.
