Sheffield's Path of Progress is a railroad-turned-multiuse-trail. The trail sits on the former Union Pacific right-of-way. The trail surface switches from asphalt in the northern half, to gravel for the southern segment. Between Gilman Street and 240th Street, the bike-ped path is paved and transitions from the industrial edge of town to the woods, across Bailey's Creek, and then to farmland. Corn fields are the dominant scenery of the gravel-surfaced segment of the trail, which begins on 240th street and heads south.
There is no dedicated parking for this trail but you may be able to find nearby on-street parking on Gilman Street.
