Overview
The Plum Creek Greenway Trail meanders for 3.15 miles through the Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, with an unconnected 1-mile section in Plum Valley Preserve.
About the Route
The Plum Creek Greenway Trail has a crushed limestone surface and is quite hilly, making it ideal for biking, hiking, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. Please be aware that dogs are only allowed on some portions of the trail due to ecological sensitivity of the preserves. Trailhead signs indicate where dogs aren't allowed.
The Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve portion of the trail runs north from the trailhead on E Goodenow Road and then meanders northeast through the preserve before ending in a little loop near 265th Street. The southern trailhead on E Goodenow Road in the Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve has a horse trailer parking area. The preserve also has several other parking lots and access points.
The Plum Valley Preserve section of the trail meanders south through the preserve from the trailhead at the intersection of E Burville Rd & Woodland Dr and ends in a small loop in the middle of the preserve.
The Plum Creek Greenway Trail has a section in the Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve and a section in Plum Valley Preserve, both located in the Crete Township.
Parking is available at each preserve:
