Profile Recreational Rail Trail Description

Open for a variety of recreational activities, the Profile Trail is a 1.5-mile multi-use natural surface path in the Town of Bethlehem. Running between US Route 3 and US Route 302, the trail runs along a former section of the Profile & Franconia Notch Railroad. At the south end of the trail, cross US Route 3 to continue on Gale River Road.

The trail stays level but with its varied surface of gravel, ballast, dirt, and grass, mountain bikes are recommended over road bikes. Pets are allowed on leashes. ATVs are permitted with snowcover only.

For up-to-date conditions and closure information, view the relevant New Hampshire Bureau of Trails page here.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at Muchmore Road and at Trudeau Road off of US Route 302.
