As its name suggests, this recreation path lies along Ridge Road in west Fremont. The trail is 8-foot-wide concrete, with intermittent tree cover, and is a flat run, walk or ride. The Ridge Road Trail connects the Fremont Lake State Recreation Area to the Luther Hormel Memorial Park. The Fremont SRA is made up of 20 sandpit lakes for swimming, fishing and camping. The trail forms a loop in Hormel Park, which also offers opportunities for fishing, picnicking and boating.
Park at the Luther Hormel Memorial Park at the south end of the trail.
Photo shown is not from this trail. It has well maintained concrete paving and is a pleasant ride. Hormel park is beautiful to ride through and has abundant wildlife. There are also unpaved trails in the park that would be easily biked, but for occasional downed trees. View of the Platte River in one spot, no significant fishing access or picnic area. Beautiful, easy ride from Fremont Lakes SRA.
