Rock Creek Greenway Description

Rock Creek Greenway is a well-shaded, paved pathway connecting four parks on its way across Gainesville, from downtown to Lake Lanier.

A pleasant place to begin is on the trail’s eastern end at Rock Creek Park. From there, the trail heads west, soon reaching Ivey Terrace Park, a pretty place for lunch with a picnic pavilion and tables. As the trail approaches the lake, Wilshire Trails Park offers a playground, grills, tables, and restrooms. The last park on the trail is Longwood, which sports a boat dock and fishing pier.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at the parks along the trail, from east to west:

  • Rock Creek Park (223 Northside Drive, NW)
  • Ivey Terrace Park (607 Ridgewood Terrace, NW)
  • Wilshire Trails (849 Wilshire Road, NW)
  • Longwood Park.( 20 Pearl Nix Parkway, NW)
