Rock Creek Greenway is a well-shaded, paved pathway connecting four parks on its way across Gainesville, from downtown to Lake Lanier.
A pleasant place to begin is on the trail’s eastern end at Rock Creek Park. From there, the trail heads west, soon reaching Ivey Terrace Park, a pretty place for lunch with a picnic pavilion and tables. As the trail approaches the lake, Wilshire Trails Park offers a playground, grills, tables, and restrooms. The last park on the trail is Longwood, which sports a boat dock and fishing pier.
Parking is available at several parks along the trail:
The entire path is lit now which makes it a perfect evening ride. Less people to navigate before Wilshire. If you’re coming from Rock Creek, stay on the right when the path splits because stairs are on the left. FYI, Longwood is closed until Summer 2026.
Nice paved trail, with a few hills.
Nice ride on a paved trail.
I love the shady walk, quite, clean
