Closure Notice: The South Lyon Trail is closed as of Dec 1st between the Huron Valley Trail and Princeton Dr. for a construction project.
Overview
The South Lyon Trail runs through South Lyon, MI for 2.3 miles.
About the Route
The South Lyon Trail leaves off in the north from its connection with the Huron Valley Trail (also sometimes referred to as the South Lyon Rail Trail) and runs south. A majority of the trail runs directly south along a straight and flat trail route, cutting in between neighborhoods.
A notable site along the trail route is Volunteer Park, which offers nature trails, and soccer and baseball fields.
Connections
At the northern end of the trail, trail users can connect to the Huron Valley Trail. Signage here will sometimes also refer to the South Lyon Rail Trail.
The South Lyon Trail runs between Huron Valley Trail (South Lyon) and South Lyon Public Library (South Lyon), where parking is available.
Parking is also available at:
Please see TrailLink Map for all parking options and detailed directions.
This trail takes you through woods, behind a sports field and culminates in a residential area.
It's smooth and flat, with the exception of the final segment, which gets somewhat hilly.
Please note that of Dec '24 the last few yards are cut of by construction, with an unknown finish date.
I would recommend this trail to anyone looking.
