Overview
The Tarkio Flats trail runs through rural Montana Forests near Albertson, MT. It is 2 miles long and connects to the Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop on either end.
The trail is open to non-motorized use.
About the Route
The Tarkio Flats trail runs for 2 miles parallel to US 90 through wooded forests. The best way to access the route is on the western end, or trail users can use the Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop to access the Tarkio Exit to the highway.
Connections
Trail users can also access the Austin Woodhouse Scenic Loop on either end.
The Mineral County Rails to Trails is part of the Great American Rail Trail, a developing 3,700-mile route from Washington D.C. to Washington State.
The Tarkio Flats Trail runs between Tarkio 1-90 Exit 61 (Albertson) and Crystal Springs I-90 Exit 95 (Albertson). Trail users can park on either end.
