This short, but beautiful trail, takes travelers from Truman Park's lake north to Aubuchon Creek through a lush wooded area. The park offers places to fish, play sports and picnic.
Future plans include continuing the trail's northward course to the St. Stanislaus Conservation Area on the Missouri River.
A parking lot is available at the southern end of the trail in Truman Park (7029 Howdershell Road, Hazelwood).
Truman park trail has alot to offer.
Kid friendly playgrounds, picnic sites, a pond for fishing, & hiking/ biking trail.
True indeed, the paved trail is short, but if you get an "itch to venture" take the paved trail to the end and explore the hiking trail which will take you to St.Stanislaus Conservation Park @ Aubuchon Creek.
It's a scenic journey & loads of fun to mountain bike through.
The 0.6 mile length of this trail is completely paved with several concrete benches and plenty of waste receptacles and shade.
The path is moderately hilly in both directions, and dead-ends into a small dirt trail which runs alongside a small water tributary. I've heard other locals say that this dirt trail is part of the Missouri River Greenway, and is or is a connection of the St. Stanislaus Trail, but I'm still not able to verify this information with trail maps online.
Definitely a nice bike ride for beginning training.
