Tupelo's Veterans Park Trail is a short multi-use trail that runs through the city park, just across the way from the birthplace of The King himself, Elvis Presley. The asphalt pathway totals just shy of a mile, weaving through the shady natural grounds of the park's south side, up to the open athletic fields in the northern half. The trail makes for a popular route for local joggers and family outings, and is a great place for visitors to the town to stretch their legs - those looking for a more rustic option can head across Veterans Memorial Boulevard to check out the unpaved Music Bend Nature Trail.
Parking is available at Veterans Park, located at 800 N Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Tupelo.
Okay, so this trail is noted to be just shy of a mile, HOWEVER, it connects to a sidewalk on Veterans Blvd. that runs to Main St., all the way to downtown Tupelo, where you can easily run a few loops around local and historical sites, Fairpark, or the historic neighborhoods on either side of the commercial district. If you want more earth and foliage, you can cross Veterans at Elvis Presley Dr. or by the fire station in front of the ball fields and run Music Bend Trail (almost two miles one way).
