Yosemite Valley Trails Description

Nestled within Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Valley's seven square miles contain probably more scenic beauty per acre than can be found anywhere in the world. There is no better way to see it all then to leave your car at the campground and tour the Valley in the scenic and environmentally friendly way: by bicycle. See such famous landmarks as the Swinging Bridge, Upper and Lower Yosemite Fall, Yosemite Chapel, Royal Arches and Washington Column. This bike ride is especially recommended during the spring months, when Yosemite Fall is roaring with snowmelt.

The trail is completely flat and runs along both banks of the Merced River. Several sections of it traverse scenic meadows, with the remainder following the main park roads.

Parking and Trail Access

There are many different parking lots along the route, but the best place to start is at the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center, so that you'll have access to detailed park information. However, if you are staying in Yosemite overnight, you may want to begin your bike journey directly from your campground.
