Lake Stanley Draper Trail

Wonderful trail

August, 2024 by xgqrms2jbn

I rode this trail on a windy day in August 2024 counter clockwise ( I've read here that's the wrong way ). Very nice wide asphalt in mint condition and a yellow lane marker like a highway has. The trail winds around Lake Stanley Draper with gentle hills and curves. Someone riding in the opposite direction said he saw a bobcat but I did not, though I looked pretty hard! 13.5 miles of bliss without a single boring moment. 5 stars!

Lake Stanley Draper Trail

Worth the time!

July, 2024 by fmmzvjmy42

We were nearly the only ones. Hills and curves are fun to ride. We saw deer and birds. A nice view of the lake on the trail. Several trailhead parking lots. There’s a tent camping area that looked pretty nice.

Nice Trail. Rolling Hills!

October, 2023 by jtfabrizio

Great 13.5 mile trail with rolling hills. Had the loop to myself today. It was 40 degrees and raining. Saw 8 deer too and there’s even some hidden gems to catch your attention and get your mind off the grind! Run it counter clockwise for max hills!

Burn loads of calories & build cardio strength!

Lovely trail with challenging, extended uphills. I recommend riding the path clockwise as it appears many regulars have learned. My husband & I rode counter clockwise and saw everyone else going the opposite direction as we walked our bikes up the steepest inclines against the wind. We saw a scissor tail swallow and many other more common birds enjoying the reservoir environment. We started & ended at the marina and had our lunch at the well maintained picnic pavilion.

Burn a lot of calories & build cardio on this trail!

Very fun ride but I recommend riding it clockwise; regulars seem to already know this because my husband and I were the only greenhorns riding counter clockwise and walking our bikes uphill against the wind¿ We parked at the marina and ended with a picnic lunch at the lovely park with a picnic pavilion. We saw a scissor tail swallow and many other more common birds enjoying the reservoir.

If a challenge is what you’re looking for, you found it!

April, 2023 by meganparks1402

My boyfriend and I did this trail this weekend and had no idea how challenging it would be. The hills here are brutal going up but so much fun going down. We’re both beginner cyclists and he made it up all hills until the very last few, I did about half before I had to start walking up lol. It isn’t very pretty here but it was clean, felt safe, and wasn’t crowded.

Great ride during the day...

September, 2019 by jdavis14

I ride this trail to work most days. It is not a long ride, but the pathway is well maintained. It is surrounded by woods with a few interesting rock formations. The only negative is the city hasn’t maintained the streetlights that line the path, so its only usable during the day.

South Grand Avenue Trail

This paved trail connects to the River Trail (which then connects to West River Trail and has easy access to Eagle Lake and Katy trails). It's an urban trail through neighborhoods, so there are several street crossings and stop lights. East of downtown you have to ride on the street for about four blocks before the trail picks up again. I've ridden this trail many times at all hours of the day. Because of the street crossings I prefer early mornings on the weekend. I enjoy a little detour through Oliver Park, which offers a nice view of downtown.

Gang Marks

February, 2015 by rockypumkin

Good riding but should ride in numbers and always be aware of surroundings. Gang markings throughout lower socioeconomic areas. Interesting characters walking the streets. At the West end it conveniently joins up with a great trail on the Oklahoma River (just ride down the path adjacent to the Dell computers campus).
