Aldridge Creek Greenway

Update: connector completed

April, 2025 by askrens

They have built a very nice bike path that connects the middle and the southern sections along Bailey Cove Road. There are also lights at the crosswalks. Thanks!!

Tennessee River Greenway

Walk north along gravel road

April, 2025 by askrens

From the Kingston Pavilion at Ditto Landing, cross the bridge and walk north along the river. Also suitable for gravel or mountain bikes. About 60% shaded. Beautiful walk.

Decatur Trail

Mallard Point was the only saving grace

April, 2025 by askrens

The majority of this trail was extremely disappointing. I think TrailLink needs to go back and reevaluate a large section of this trail. A narrow sidewalk that runs along a busy street, for several miles, does not constitute a bike or walking path. Mallard Point was beautiful in mid April. That said, the large waterpark was not open. I would not come here during the summer because it’s probably total chaos. The large parking lots have the clear signs no RVs and no campers allowed.

Swan Creek Greenway

Wonderful greenway!

April, 2025 by askrens

The trail was nearly immaculate -- hats off to the citizens of Athens. Beautiful path that followed Swan Creek almost the entire way. People, dogs, bikes, strollers... all kind and thoughtful.

Richard Martin Trail

Beautiful ride for a spring day

April, 2025 by askrens

I started at the south trailhead and did an out and back for a total of 22 miles. The southern half of the trail is definitely in better condition, but my gravel bike did fine on everything. Rapeseed was blooming,as were the red buckeyes. saw several other cyclist and two groups on horseback. Wonderful to see people out on such a beautiful day.

connecting

Is the trail a continuation or is it broken up on the other side of the interstate?

Tennessee River Greenway

very scenic, light traffic

October, 2024 by bbraden

only thing keeping it from 5* is length. Parallels river 90%, light traffic. Surface is nothing fancy but in good condition.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

wide trail isolated from car traffic

October, 2024 by bbraden

well maintained trail, wide enough to accommodate walkers, skaters, cyclists, etc. with minimal, if any, inconvenience. No cross streets, though bridge interchanges require slowing down. Some narrow & blind spots, esp around RR underpass. Heat was not an issue, but probably more sun than shade overall, though not extreme. Light traffic on a midday Friday.
Aldridge Creek runs straight and shallow, not terribly scenic; extent of wildlife observed were a few aquatic fowl

Richard Martin Trail

Mountain Goat Trail

Road It 30 miles

August, 2024 by rx94p4h8xz

Trail is now 12 miles. Signs stating they are looking to expand to 40 miles in the future. Took some time in Sewanee College. Beautiful building there. Will definitely visit again.

Sunset Drive Trail

Well Maintained

August, 2024 by w597ytgvpy

A very nice, well maintained trail with ample bathroom facilities, trash and recycle receptacles. Well paved double-lane path out and back. Beautiful views of Lake Guntersville and neighboring communities. Plenty of picnic tables and benches and water filling stations. If they could bridge busy Hwy 69 which you cross it might be perfect.

Mountain Goat Trail

This trail is now over 10 miles long and makes for a great ride. More shade than sun, gently sloped and well maintained. Use this trail often and continue to see new things. Paul and Gayle
