Sulphur Creek Trail

Sulphur Creek ( Heber Springs) Trail

November, 2024 by chuckrinks

Over the past month, we have walked the entirety of this trail in sections, and that includes about 3/4 mile that was recently added near Sugarloaf. We love this trail, especially between Scott street to where you’re forced to walk on the road at Bittle Rd. Round trip is about 4 1/4 miles. It’s flat, mostly wooded, with several bridges over the creek. Only improvement would be to either add sidewalks or a dedicated walk/bike path where this trail is on a road.

This is a nice riding trail that I enjoyed very much. My only complaint is the need for more signs where the trail goes onto city streets, it’s very easy to get lost.

Arkansas River Trail

We rode the trail today 10-19-2024. We started by trying to find two listed parking spots on the south side of the river without success, so we parked somewhere else that was next to the trail. We first tried going east on the trail toward Clinton library where we wanted to cross the river but were told by some men that the sidewalk was closed so we turned around and went west only to run into a dead end. The section looked nice with some cute statues/sculptures and open seating areas but the trail was very poorly marked so it was a challenge to find out where we were supposed to go next. We loaded up and drove across the river and parked at the maritime museum (nice large parking lot) parking lot. We then went west to the end of the trail. Very pretty! We passed kids playing soccer, men playing golf, beautiful water side homes, playgrounds, the Big Rock Quarry, lots of people walking, biking, skating, etc. Very enjoyable.

Best Trail in Central Arkansas

I love this trail and I ride it every chance I get, it has so many access points you can get on at several different trail heads, and it’s so versatile in trail conditions, most of it is paved, then you do some road riding on one stretch, you can go off road a little on one part of it as well.

A Gem of an Urban Trail

April, 2024 by jdwiesner

Rode from downtown Little Rock from the Marriott to the bridge over the Arkansas River by the Clinton Presidential Library and then all the way west on the north side of the river out to the Big Dam Bridge and then back across the river and continued west to the end of Two Rivers park. The trail is basically flat except for the bridges, wide and paved. Once you get two or so miles west of Clinton Bridge, The trail is basically a mixture of park spaces and greenway along the River. It’s beautiful. We rode on a weekday. I imagine on the weekend it may be more crowded. We were told to Stay away from the south river stretch because of construction and the fact that it isn’t as scenic.

Save paved trail is wonderful!

My husband I and I use this trail often. It goes through wooded areas, along Gun Creek, through fields and park areas. Pretty level all along the way. We use it to get to neighborhoods where we can extend our ride. Well maintained throughout! Excellent trail for biking or walking!

Sulphur Creek Trail

My wife and I rode a few miles in November 2023 and enjoyed the lush fall foliage. The trail itself is paved with some elevation - nothing very intense. Lots of places to stop and rest or take in the beautiful scenery.

Short & Sweet

Trail had some cracks and stones. It didn’t make in-line skating too difficult, just had to be cautious. Scenery was nice and trail was short. My dogs loved it. Would be a great trail for kids

Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail

Nice ride

May, 2023 by t.g333

Rode this today, trail is well maintained and largely follows the creek. Starting, from Hot Springs visitor center follow the brick path to the trail head. There are metal tags in the ground pointing to the Greenway trail - nice touch for out of town people! The beginning crosses through an industrial type area. We saw several, possibly homeless individuals, though non of them approached or bothered us in any way. The trails gets more beautiful as it goes. There are future plans to expand which will make this a 5 star trail.

Burns Park access closed due to storm damage

April, 2023 by normrtt

We parked at Julius Breckling Riverfront Park ($3/hr) and crossed the Arkansas River to the north side at Gateway Bridge, and proceeded north-west until Burns Park, where access was blocked due to the recent tornado damage. The security guard informed us that this will be a long term closure. We turned around and crossed back to the south side of the river at the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge. Note that the Clinton Library has parking.
There is much highway construction downtown making route finding challenging at times.
We had hoped to get to the Big Dam Bridge, but even with the truncated ride, it was very scenic and pleasant.
